Lydia Simone - Class of 2017

I attended SMS K - 8th, graduated in 2017. My biggest takeaway was the education I received & the closeness of our class.

My importance of faith was learned throughout and that God is always present even if we doubt it.

Families considering should look at the size of the classes and school, the one on one their child will receive.

I’m going into my senior year at University of Rhode Island majoring in Health Sciences.

Lena Simone - Class of 2017

I attended St. Mary’s K-8th grade and graduated in 2017.

My biggest takeaway from my time at SMS was the experiential and integrated learning opportunities that enriched my education. It truly was education with a plus paired with mentors that evidently care.

Attending SMS brought me closer to my faith by providing a supportive and caring environment and taught me you can apply your faith in truly any circumstances.

My advice to those considering St. Mary’s would be to recognize it is beyond just education but an impactful and fulfilling experience that will nurture your mind and faith while fostering community and personal growth.

Now, I am entering my final year at Bentley University dually pursuing a BS in Marketing and MBA and spend my time focused on other extracurriculars such as being the president of a sorority, volunteering as part of their Service-Learning Program, intramural soccer & basketball while also working an internship in the Boston area.

I’m a firm believer in my education and experience at St. Mary’s being a main driver in where I am today and most importantly, the student, leader and individual I have become.

Zach Bianco - Class of 2017

I attended St. Mary's from 2007-2017 (Class of 2017

My biggest takeaway from my time at St. Mary's School was how prepared it made me for when I started high school. Every teacher was wonderful and cared about my personal growth and studies, and that was what helped me succeed in my later schooling

Attending St. Mary's School brought me closer to my faith because of the many wonderful religion classes and masses that were held at the school. The textbooks and activities that went along with them were helpful in learning and understanding the Catholic religion. I also was an altar server for many years, so that also brought me closer to my faith.

My advice to a family who is thinking about sending their child to St. Mary's School is that you made the right choice. Coming from experience, St. Mary's was the perfect choice for me, given the small class sizes, tight knit community, and the wonderful care and education I received during my decade learning and growing at St. Mary's School

I currently attend Westfield State University, majoring in Communication. I will be graduating in less than a year with my Bachelors Degree!

Jacob Bianco - Class of 2019

Attended St. Mary’s from K-8th Grade

St. Marys taught me proper manners and prepared me for math, science and english classes in high school

The two main ways St. Mary's brought me closer to my faith are the in-school Masses and religion classes which taught me a lot and brought me more attuned to my faith.

Some advice: If you want your child to be well prepared for any high school environment, St. Marys is the right place!

Today, I am a rising sophomore pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Finance at Syracuse University in New York.

Tori Deluca - Class of 2024

Hi, my name is Victoria DeLuca and I attended SMS for four years.

The biggest takeaway from my time at SMS was definitely the sense of community between everyone at the school. SMS really taught me what respect and compassion felt like in a learning environment.

St. Marys brought me closer to my faith by incorporating religion into almost every activity/lesson. SMS allows you to voice your religious beliefs as well as learn your classmates beliefs. As a whole, we understood each other and God on a deeper and more sincere level.

My advice to any families that are wondering if SMS is the right choice for their child, It is. Not only will your child thrive in the classroom, but they will also shine outside of the school. Children at SMS are taught to be mature in difficult situations and easily shine through dark moments. I wouldn't be where I am today, as a person without this school.

Currently, I am preparing to attend Taconic High School while participating in the exploratory program.

Meghan (O'Brien) Cherry - Class of 2005

Hello!  My name is Meghan Cherry (O'Brien) and I am a St. Mary's School Alumni from the class of 2005.  I attended SMS starting in kindergarten.  My biggest takeaways from SMS are community, relationships, and families.  From my classmates to the teachers that taught me each year, I was surrounded by people who really cared about one another.  On top of that, my dad worked there, which I thought was the best thing!  There are many teachers I had who I still reach out to today and classmates I am still close with.

Faith based education was something that my parents really believed in and it is something that I reflect on today.  St. Mary's really used those teachings as a way to guide who we would become in our adult lives - embodying skills like empathy, kindness, and being thoughtful.  My brother and sister-in-law are currently sending their daughter to SMS and I would like to share the advice I gave them with other families who are thinking about SMS for their child - I highly recommend it!

Between small classes, individualized education, and community skills, you can't go wrong.  Not to mention, friends that will last a lifetime.

Today, I live in New Hampshire with my husband Aaron, our dog, and our cat.  I teach third grade in Hartland, Vermont.  I spend my summers on Lake Garfield in the Berkshires!
